What does a sudden evacuation look like? After everyone is gone, what happens to the places they've abandoned? National Geographic Magazine sent Associated Press photographer David Guttenfelder to the nuclear exclusion zone around Japan's Fukushima Daiichi power plant to find out. Evacuated shortly after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami led to a nuclear radiation crisis, the area has been largely untouched, with food rotting on store shelves and children's backpacks waiting in classrooms. The area may face the same fate as the town of Pripyat, Ukraine after the Chernobyl disaster 25 years ago. This isn't the first time Guttenfelder has gotten a rare glimpse of a place few see, as The Big Picture featured his photographs of North Korea in an earlier post. Collected here are Guttenfelder's haunting images just released of a place abandoned, and of people dealing with the loss. -- Lane Turner (39 photos total)

As 2011 ends, Iraqis confront their challenges with neither the presence of US troops, nor the shadow of Saddam Hussein, who was executed five years ago today. He had ruled since 1979, although he'd been a power player in the government since 1968. The American occupation ended officially on December 15, eight years after the 2003 invasion. Sectarian strife still plagues Iraq, and although the violence lessened from near-civil war levels in 2006, the pullout of American forces has seen a return of hostilities. While the number of American casualties of the occupation stands at 4,487, figures for Iraqi casualties have no such certainty. Some estimates put the figure as high as 100,000. Now conflicts new and old wait to be dealt with by a country free to decide its own fate for the first time in generations. Sectarian struggle, problems with water and electricity delivery, and war-ravaged infrastructure are just a few of the issues facing Iraqis today. Gathered here are recent images of Iraq as it looks ahead to 2012. The last four images are portraits by Reuters photographer Shannon Stapleton, who asked ordinary Iraqis for their thoughts on their future after the pullout of American forces. -- Lane Turner (36 photos total)

Sinopsis

Filem yang diadaptasikan daripada novel Ombak Rindu ini mengisahkan tentang perjalanan cinta dua insan, Izzah dan Hariz dari dua dunia yang berbezadan mereka terpaksa menempuh pelbagai rintangan sebelum menemui kebahagiaan. Izzah adalah gadis kampung yang telah dijual oleh bapa saudaranya kepada sebuah kelab hiburan di K.L untuk dijadikan pelacur. Seorang pemuda, Hariz anak Datuk Sufiah, pemilik empayar perniagaan SUFIAH CEMERLANG telah mermbeli Izzah dari pemilik kelab tersebut untuk dijadikan perempuan simpanan, namun Izzah telah merayu Hariz supaya menikahinya untuk menghalalkan hubungan mereka.

Hariz setuju dengan syarat Izzah tidak menuntut sebarang hak sebagai isteri. namun selepas itu, hariz yang kasar dan panas baran telah jatuh cinta dengan Izzah yang penuh dengan kelembutan. hariz kemudian terpaksa menikahi Mila, kawan zaman persekolahannya setelah didesak oleh Datuk Sufiah dan Mila yang amat mencintainya. Semasa Hariz koma dihospital akibat kemalangan jalan raya, Datuk Sufiah telah menghalau Izzah keluar dari bungalow Hariz dan merampas telefon bimbit Izzah.



Setelah keluar dari hospital, Datuk Sufiah memberitahu Hariz yang Izzah telah menjalani hubungan dengan lelaki lain. Hariz yang marah telah memberitahu Izzah bahawa dia akan digantung tidak bertali semasa terserempak dengan Izzah di rumah pak Dollah, pemandu keluarga Datuk Sufiah. Izzah kemudian kembali ke kampungnya. Pak Dollah yang marah dengan Datuk Sufiah telah memecahkan rahsia bahawa hariz adalah anaknya yang telah diserahkan kepada suami Datuk Sufiah untuk dijadikan anak angkat serta memberitahu Hariz bahawa Izzah tidak bersalah. Hariz yang menyesal dan amat rindukan Izzah telah pergi ke kampung Izzah untuk memujuk supaya kembali kepangkuannya. Mila datang ke kampung Izzah dan menuntut cerai dari Hariz. Filem ini berakhir dengan Izzah dan Hariz menjalani hidup bahagia tanpa rahsia lagi.

Dia ditangkap oleh FBI dengan bantuan Tsutomu Shimomura yang mengesan jaringan HP yang dibawa Mitnick saat itu. Tapi sekarang dia sudah insaf dan menjadi seorang penulis buku, konsultan security, dan pemudahcara.


Kevin Poulsen
Juga dikenal dengan Dark Dante. Dia menghack database FBI. Selain itu dia juga menghack seluruh talian telefon kerana memang kemahiran dia menghack talian telefon. Saat ini dia jadi senior editor diWired News, dan berjaya menangkap 744 penawaran sex melalui profiles Myspace.


Robert Tappan Moris
Orang yang pertama kali membuat Worm, yang dinamakan Morris Worm melalui internet dan menyebarkan wormnya yang mengakibatkan lebih kurang 6000 komputer jadi down..!!!

Dia akhirnya dipenjarakan rumah selama 3 tahun dan didenda sebesar $10,500 dollar. Sekarang dia bekerja sebagai professor di sebuah MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory!!


Karl Koch

Dia berasal dari Hannover Jerman yang menamakan komputernya kungfuUP (First Universal Cybernetic-Kinetic Ultra-Micro Programmer). Dia melakukan beberapa kajian dalam menghack pada kurun waktu1985-1988. Dia juga seorang penagih kokain.

Dia berjaya membolosi beberapa sistem ketenteraan AS dan menghack sebuah pusat tenaga nuklear AS pada zaman perang dingin dan hasil hacknya dijual ke KGB (Agen Rahsia Soviet Union). Dia ditemui mati pada tahun 1988, menurut info dia membakar tubuhnya sendiri namun ada yang mengesyaki menjadi mangsa konspirasi.
